Tis the season ,,,,again

Well Christmas is fast approaching and all the little humanoids are scrabbling around, snarling over parking spaces and making that last snatch at the perfect gift.

Despite all this Jen and I are having a great Christmas so far, Jen got all the gifts delivered to the door thanks to eBay, Australia post and a variety of couriers so we have not had to brave shopping Malls in festive frenzy.

My family will be having Lunch at my sisters and it seems that some sort of peace accord has be signed as it seems (at this time) that all siblings are going to attend.

Due to some family whom are traveling over Christmas we already got to open some gifts! So far I have made out like Aladdin getting a voucher for Dan Murphy's $$, a 18 month White Dwarf subscription which came with a nifty rare miniature and a Games Workshop voucher $$. Also got a joint gift with Jen of the @25th ann' special of the Rocky Horror picture show DVD so we finally have a copy now=)

Ok so I have not been so good on the whole "I shall post more often" front!

But really I am not one of those people who will just blather on when they really have nothing to talk about (Art, politics, books, personal insights and KITTENS are something to talk about!)

What's new with me....hmmmm, I AM FREE! I got my freedom papers from the National this week, they paid me a separation package and I am now FREE!

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed working with my team leaders and members of the IB support desk I mean crikey I was there for 5 yrs! It was not all roses though, no Job really is, the only disappointing part was the direction that upper management was taking and it has caused the National to lose many talented individuals.

And I am not going to bore the masses with the details here =)

New things:

Writing an new Superhero Rp game using Hero
Having a Halloween party.
Minx seems to be getting better from her latest setback
Minx sold more art (yes I step closer to the life that I wish to become accustomed=)

Old things:
Wargaming going well I may even put a post on my warhammer blog..gasp say it isn't so!
Still need to organize some WH fantasy games.

I apologize to all and sundry for leaving such a depressing post as my only post!

Well let me change that! Christmas actually went really well and all who came had a great time! (I know it was 5 months ago already leave me alone=p)

Yesterday marked Minx's and my 2 year anniversary from our wedding, yay us! Guess what? We are still totally nuts for each other and still love nothing more than spending as much time together as we can! (I can hear some of you gagging=)

We celebrated by going out to dinner at a lovely restaurant in Box hill called Dumpling King, (Thanks Thorin and Erin for finding this place for us) where we ate many, many dumpling's and then finally managed to make it through our yummy, yummy mains.
The food is totally delicious and all up very reasonably priced. Between minx and I , 3 plates of dumpling's 2 mains and great bottle of wine in a very nice setting we were rather surprised to see the bill come out under $80! Huzzah for us! SO we heartily recommend this tasty place.

Also in recent news Minx and I have jumped head first back into the SCA and even made it to Rowany this year huzzah! One of the main problems with tackling Rowany is making sure you have enough garb for a 5-7 day event that is FULLY garbed. We managed to make enough garb thanks to some fortuitous fabric sales and a super human effort from Alice who made a heap of garb for me, allowing Minx to concentrate on her more complex kirtles, hoods and other stuff!

Hmm time to turn up heat in home as fingers going blue....

I just finished writing emails to my family expressing my disappointment and sadness over their avoidance of our Christmas celebrations this year.
Jennie and I thought we would try and rescue my families holiday spirit, which has received multiple beatings over the past few years, so we tried to set them up with a great Christmas celebration to revive their comatose Yule tide feelings. So guess how many said they would come out of a guest list of 17 (this includes my nieces and nephews), go on guess...17....15...12 nope try 6! One of those six is Jennie's dad. So more than slightly annoyed I gave myself a few days to calm down so I could respond in a calm and reasonable manner.... HAH!
I have just stewed in the waste that has become my bitter family, so I vomited out that bitterness into email form and sent them off, they caused it so they can deal with it!

Well this is a happy blog to start my personal ramblings!

Now to try and shuck that funk off lets talk about more social and inane musings.

Ainsley and Benji's wedding was lovely and a lot of fun. I was proud to hear the dulcet tones of Metallica playing at the end of the ceremony ( something Ainsley has always said she would do).

I did cheat a little at A&B's wedding I organised a Warhammer 40k game with Aaron and Sean for this coming Sunday (27th) so my Warhammer Blog will be getting another post too!

Got to play Ninja burger and Dork Tower over at Korny, Yolande and Thorne's after the wedding fun was had by all even though we were all insanely tired.

Jen as usual down played how much her back was hurting during the entire event and has been paying for that day all week but she wanted to help Ainsley and Benji celebrate their very special day. That is her life at the moment... choices "Can I afford the pain this is going to cost me?" " Do I think this event is worth the pain it is going to cost me?"

Look at that I managed to go all maudlin again! I am going to stop here and post later when I am happier
